A successfully designed landscape should not include the annual flowers or ‘seasonal color’. We need to start looking at the ‘bones’ plantings…..trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials. These are the plants which return every year……the ‘main base’ of our landscapes. All of annuals and seasonal color are just the fluff….the icing on the cake. Fluff is great, but when the fluff is gone, it still needs to look great!
